Blountstown, FL – This Saturday, April 30, Calhoun Liberty Hospital and the communities of Calhoun and Liberty counties will host a Bluegrass concert in downtown Blountstown. From 10am to 1pm, the public is invited to enjoy the harmonies of Swiftwater, a local band that plays a fusion of bluegrass, gospel and folk.
The concert is free to the public, and tickets for a plated meal can be purchased for $7 at Calhoun Liberty Hospital. Donations for the hospital will also be accepted at the event. Because Calhoun Liberty Hospital is a non-profit organization, donations of any amount to the hospital may be tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
“We are so blessed to be able to use our music to help the hospital, which is so important to our community,” said band leader Al Webb. “We know helping the hospital will in turn help our community.”
The hospital will use the funds collected to cover the costs associated with correcting deficiencies identified earlier this year by the Agency for Health Care Administration. Failure to correct the deficiencies could have led to drastic results for the hospital, including a loss of federal funding and/or closure.
“We know our hospital is a vital part of our community, and our community is vital to the support of our hospital,” said hospital board chairman Ruth Attaway. “This concert will not only help us raise funds, but will also demonstrate our gratitude to this community and to the people who have helped us so much over the past several months.”
