EMILY BROWN RN, MSN NAMED INTERIM CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER AT CALHOUN LIBERTY HOSPITAL
BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla. (Friday, March 1, 2024) – Emily Brown RN, MSN has been named Interim Chief
Administrative Officer (CAO) at Calhoun Liberty Hospital (CLH). The addition of Brown to the CLH
leadership team comes as work ramps up on construction of a new 50,000 square foot state-of-the-art
facility set to open summer of 2025.

BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla. (Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024) – For the first time, Calhoun Liberty Hospital (CLH), a
Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Affiliate, has been recognized as one of the nation’s Top 100 Critical
Access Hospitals by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. Chartis’ annual Top 100 award program
recognizes outstanding performance among rural hospitals based on the results of the Chartis Rural
Hospital Performance INDEX®.
“This recognition is a testament to the strong team of dedicated colleagues we have at Calhoun Liberty
Hospital,” said CEO Chris Jepsen. “Our facility has faced many challenges over the past several years, and this honor shows that we have persevered and are poised for success in 2024.”

HURRICANE IDALIA: Tuesday, August 29, 2023 | 11 a.m. CT
Due to the potential impact of Hurricane Idalia, the Calhoun Liberty Primary Care Clinic will not open on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, until noon.
In the event that power or internet capabilities are down, the office will be closed until service is restored. All updates will be posted at www.calhounlibertyhospital.com and on CLH social media.

IT EVENT UPDATE: 4 pm, Tuesday, August 22, 2023
CLH teams have continued to restore operations after the recent IT security incident. We’re happy to report that all patient services have been restored and returned to normal operations.
The investigation into this matter remains ongoing, but please be assured, we will take all appropriate actions in response to our findings.

Thank you for your continued patience and support as CLH continues its investigation and response into the recent IT security event. We’ve made substantial progress over the weekend in restoring many of our essential applications, and most operations, with the exception of Radiology, have returned to normal.
We understand the inconvenience this may have caused our patient community and sincerely apologize for that. Despite these challenges, our commitment to providing high-quality patient- and family-centered care remains unwavering.

IT EVENT UPDATE: 4 pm CT, Friday, August 18, 2023
Calhoun Liberty Hospital continues its investigation and response to the recent IT security event disrupting access to its network. The measures taken in response to the incident have resulted in department systems being taken offline. Restoration efforts are underway, and CLH will continue operating under downtime procedures and use paper charting until further notice.

IT EVENT: 4 pm CT, Thursday, August 17, 2023
At approximately 8 a.m. today, Calhoun Liberty Hospital detected unusual activity involving our computer systems. We took immediate action to contain the event and began an investigation. We have taken our computer systems offline as a proactive security measure, and we have reported the event to law enforcement. We are operating under downtime procedures, which means we are using paper documentation.
