CLH has been chosen as the 2025–2026 partner hospital for the FSU Rural Med Collective, a student-led organization dedicated to supporting rural hospitals through service activities and collaborative problem-solving.
Representatives from the group recently visited the hospital to tour the new facility and meet with CLH leadership. Their visit included conversations about patient care priorities, community needs, and opportunities for student engagement that align with the hospital’s mission and rural healthcare environment.
Each year, the Rural Med Collective selects one rural hospital to focus its efforts on. For the coming academic year, their activities will include a series of service projects and outreach initiatives, beginning with a toy drive to benefit local children and families. In addition, the organization’s innovation team will work alongside hospital leaders to explore ideas that may support patient care processes and day-to-day operations.
“We are grateful that these students recognize the importance of rural healthcare and want to invest their time and energy in our community,” said Emily Brown, CEO. “Their interest in learning from and contributing to the work of rural hospitals is encouraging, and we look forward to collaborating with them in the year ahead.”
The partnership reflects the value of academic engagement in rural health and supports CLH’s ongoing focus on education, collaboration, and innovation in patient care.
