Who We Are

Rooted in Care. Built for the Future.

Since 1961, Calhoun Liberty Hospital has served as the only hospital within a 35-mile radius—providing trusted, high-quality healthcare to the people of Liberty and Calhoun counties. As a 12-bed Critical Access Hospital, we deliver personalized care with the clinical standards and professionalism you’d expect from a larger facility.

In 2018, Hurricane Michael caused severe damage to our original facility. Despite the devastation, our hospital never closed its doors. Guided by determination and supported by key partners, we continued to serve our community—knowing that a new chapter was ahead.

Today, that vision is becoming reality. Thanks to a unified effort and significant investment, we are preparing to open a new 50,000-square-foot hospital facility that reflects our commitment to rural healthcare and long-term community health.

Funding and support for the new hospital have come through the partnership and collaboration of:

  • Florida Commerce
  • Florida Department of Emergency Management
  • Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA)
  • Florida Department of Health
  • U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
  • Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare
  • Alliant Management Services
  • Calhoun Liberty Hospital Board of Directors
  • Big Bend Healthcare Alliance
