Sometimes patients no longer need hospital-level care but aren’t quite ready to return home. That’s where short-term transitional rehab, also known as a swing bed program, can help.

In rural hospitals like CLH, “swing beds” allow hospital rooms to be used flexibly based on the community’s need, whether for acute care or short-term skilled rehabilitation.
